2019 A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier Wrap-Up
The trend of young winners on the PGA Tour continued this week at the Greenbrier, where Joaquin Niemann ran away with the title by six strokes over Tom Hoge. Joaquin started the final round with a two-shot lead, but after four straight pars to start, his lead was only one. He birdied the 5th and the 8th, and despite a bogey on the 9th, the young Chileanwas still in control. The back nine is where Niemann put this tournament away; he birdied 10, 11, and 13, bogeyed 15, but finished with a flurry of three straight birdies. His final round 65 was good enough for his first career PGATour in his 43rd professional start.
Next week, the PGA Tour season continues in Jackson, Mississippi at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
