2019 AT&T Byron Nelson Wrap-Up
Despite weather delays, golf fans were treated to an exciting tournament with lots of low scoring. In the end, Sang Kung won by two strokes over Matt Every and Scott Piercy. Starting the day 3 shots ahead of Every, Kung saw his lead slip quickly after a birdie on the 1st and a bogey on the 2nd, while Matt birdied the first three holes. Sang Kung would rally with birdies on 8 and 9 to regain a one-shot lead. Another birdie for Kung on 10 would be given back on 12, but the turning point of the tournament would occur with his three straight birdies on 14, 15 and 16. A bogey on 18 wouldn’t matter, and a final round 4-under 67 would be good enough for his first career PGA Tour victory.
The PGA Tour heads to the season’s second major in Long Island, New York at the PGA Championship.
