It was a week of low scoring at the second event in the FedEx Cup Playoffs, and Justin Thomas capitalized on an incredible3rd round 61 to win by three over Patrick Cantlay. Justin started the final round with a 6-stroke lead over Cantlay and Tony Finau, and an opening bogey gave the final group some hope. After a string of pars, Thomas added birdies on5 and 7, and made the turn leading by four. A two-shot swing on the par-5 10th cut the lead to just two strokes, but JT bounced right back with a birdie on the 11th, then added another birdie on the long par-3 13th. Both Cantlay and Thomas birdied the 15th, and Justin Thomas added one more birdie on the 18thfor a final round 68 and his 10th career PGA Tour title. He also takes the lead into the Tour Championship with its new format.
The 2018-2019 PGA Tour season comes to a close next week at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
