It took a blistering final round, but24-year-old Spaniard Jon Rahm stormed from behind to capture the Irish Open title by two shots over Bernd Wiesberger and Andy Sullivan. Rahm started the day five shots off the 54-hole lead held by Robert Rock. A birdie on 2 was quickly given back on 3, but Jon Rahm would add birdies on 5, 7, and 9 to make the turn in 3-under 31. Another birdie on 10 followed by an eagle on the 12thput him into contention. A bogey on 13 was followed by bounce-back birdies on14 and 15, and his final birdie on 17 finally gave him the outright lead. After a par on 18, his 8-under 62 was enough to secure his 4th career European Tour title and moved Jon Rahm to the top of the Race to Dubai Standings.
Next week, the European Tour heads to NorthBerwick for the Scottish Open.
