The European Tour heads to Rome, Italy for yet another edition of the Italian Open. Last year, Thorbjorn Olesen defeated hometown favorite Francesco Molinari for his fifth career European Tour title. This year, there will be a new champion, as Thorbjorn has elected to rest during his title defense. Typically played in late Spring, the Italian Openmoved to the Fall and is now a part of the Rolex Series. With an increased purse and Race to Dubai points, some of the best players in the world have made their way to Rome. Major champions in the field include Justin Rose, Shane Lowry, Danny Willett, and the aforementioned Molinari. Other notables in the field include 2017 Italian Open champion Tyrell Hatton, and young Italian sensation Guido Migliozzi, who has two wins already this season.
