2019 Mayakoba Golf Classic Wrap-Up

It was the second Monday finish in the 2019-2020 PGA Tour season, but it didn’t stop Brendon Todd from winning his second consecutive start at the Mayakoba Golf Classic by one stroke over Vaughn Taylor, Adam Long, and Carlos Ortiz. After a marathon Sunday, The final groups returned to finish their last four holes, and Todd held a share of the lead with Taylor. Brendan took control of the tournament with a birdie on the 15th, and when both he and Vaughn Taylor made bogey on 16, he was two holes away from holding onto the title. With two closing pars, Brendon Todd was able to fade late birdies from Adam Long and earn his 3rd career PGA Tour victory. His victory also vaults Todd into the top spot in the FedEx Cup standings, and also earns him an invitation to the Masters.

Next week, the PGA Tour hosts its final official event of the 2019 calendar year at the RSM Classic.
