2019 Porsche European Open Wrap-Up
It was another tightly-contested golf tournament at the European Tour’s Porsche European Open, and it was Paul Casey who squeaked through by one stroke over Mattias Schwab, Robert McIntyre, and Bernd Ritthammer. Casey began the day one stroke behind McIntyre and Ritthammer, and birdies on the 2nd, 6th, and 8th helped keep him within striking distance going into the back 9. After three pars to start his final nine holes, Paul Casey made a birdie on the 13th, then birdied 16 and 17 to take a two shot lead into the last hole. One final par on the par-5 18th secured the Englishmen’s 14th career European Tour victory, and his first since the 2014 KLM Open.
Next week, the European Tour heads to Amsterdam for the KLM Open.
