With only four events left in the 2019 European Tour season, the pressure is on for players to earn their playing privileges. Steven Brown, who entered this event 150th in the Race to Dubai standings, has now secured his playing privileges with his one shot victory over Justin Walters and Brandon Stone. He started the final round three strokes behind Stone, and played a flawless front-9, which included birdies on the 2ndand 9th. The deficit remained at 3 going into the final 9 holes, but as BrandonStone struggled, Steven Brown flourished. A birdie at 11 was followed by an eagle on the 12th, and after Stone made bogeys on 13 and 16, Brown suddenly found himself with a one-shot lead. A string of pars to finish was all Steven Brown needed to secure his first European Tour title, and vaults up to 69th in the Race to Dubai Standings.
Next week, the European Tour’s best heads toChina for the World Golf Championships - HSBC Champions.
