Golf fans were treated to an incredible display of golf by none other than Rory McIlroy, who won the RBC Canadian Open by 7 shots over Shane Lowry and Webb Simpson. He began the day tied for the lead with Simpson and FedEx Cup points leader Matt Kuchar, but birdies on 1, 2, 4, and 5 would give him a two-shot edge, and he wouldn’t look back. Another birdie on 7 gave him a front-nine 30, and he would continue to add to his lead with four straight birdies on 11-14 to put himself in position to shoot 59. A bogey on 16 hurt his chances, but he rallied back with an eagle on the par-5 17th to give him a chance. Unfortunately, his approach would find the greenside bunker. Despite a closing bogey, Rory McIlroy’s final round 61 ties his best PGA Tour score and resulted in his 16th PGA Tour victory, and his 2nd of the season. Next week, the PGA Tour heads to the Monterey Peninsula for the 119th U.S. Open
