The PGA Tour’s fall season strolls through wine country at this week’s Safeway Open in Napa, California. Last year, Kevin Tway earned his first PGA Tour victory in a sudden-death playoff by defeating Ryan Moore and Brandt Snedeker. He will make his first PGA Tour title defense against a tough field of some of the world’s best players, including two-time Safeway Open winner Brenden Steele and 2014 winner Sang Moon Bae. Other notables in the field include Hall-of-Famer Phil Mickelson, former PGA Championship winners Jason Dufner and Jimmy Walker, and 17-time PGA Tour winner Jim Furyk.
Silverado Country Club - North Course will host this tournament for the fifth consecutive year. This beautiful golf course features oak-lined fairways and several elevation changes. The closing par-5 always provides an exciting finish.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Sebastian Munoz: His first two events of the 2019-2020 season, Sebastian has finished tied for 7th and 1st. With his tour card locked up for the next three seasons, expect him to continue his incredible pace of play.
Harold Varner III: A tie for 19th at the Greenbrier, followed by a week off means that Harold Varner is playing well and also well-rested. He finished in the top 15 in this event last year, and all signs point to him having another strong finish this year.
