Some of the European Tour’s best are gathering Gothenberg, Sweden for the 29th edition of the Scandinavian Invitational. Last year, Paul Waring defeated Thomas Aiken in a sudden-death playoff for his first European Tour victory, and he’s back to defend his title against an elite field. Headlining the field are Sweden-natives Henrik Stenson, winner of the2016 Open Championship, and Alex Noren, 10-time European Tour winner. Other notables in the field include 5-time European Tour winner Matthew Fitzpatrick, and last week’s runner-up Adri Arnaus.
Hills Golf and Sports Club :
will host this event for the second consecutive year. This Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest design was builtin 2005 and has since been redesigned by 3-time European Tour winner and head golf professional Johan Edfors.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Henrik Stenson: He decided to skip the FedEx Cup Playoffs so he could participate in this event. Not only has he finished runner up twice in this tournament (including a playoff loss to Mark Hensby), he has been resting and gearing up for the last two weeks.
Andrea Pavan: The two-time European Tour winner tends to play great during the month of August. He earned his first win the week after finishing tied for sixth here in 2018. Don’t be surprised to see him contend again this year.
