In a tightly contested golf tournament on a difficult golf course, a handful of golfers jostled for the top spot, and in the end, Jorge Campillo emerged victorious by two strokes over Julian Suri, Sean Crocker, Erik Van Rooyen. Starting the day one stroke behind Van Rooyen, Campillo struggled early with bogeys at the 2nd and 3rd holes, and through 5 holes he found himself trailing by 3; however, those would be his only bogeys of the round. Jorge Campillo bounced back with birdies on 8 and 11, and after Van Rooyen began to struggle on the back 9, it would be a 4-man race to the finish. A birdie on 16 would give Campillo the outright lead, and a birdie on 17provided a valuable two-stroke cushion. A par on the last resulted in a 2-under71 and his first career European Tour victory.
Next week, the European Tour heads to China for the Volvo China Open.
