The European Tour Race to Dubai heats up with just three events to go at the 7th Annual Turkish Airlines Open. Last year, Justin Rose successfully defended his 2017 title, and he will attempt to become the first player since Colin Montgomerie (1998 to 2000) to win three consecutive titles at the same event. If he wants to make history, we will have to navigate an incredibly strong field, which includes Champion Golfer of the Year Shane Lowry and fellow two-time Turkish Airlines Open champion Victor Dubuisson. Other notables in the field include current Race to Dubai points leader Bernd Wiesberger, as well as former Masters champions Danny Willett and Patrick Reed.
Montgomerie Maxx Royal - will host this event for the 4th time in its young history. Designed by Hall-of-Fame golfer ColinMontgomerie, this majestic layout is located about 30 kilometers east of the Turkish Mediterranean coast. Additionally, the par-5 closing hole will provide plenty of drama if the event comes down to the wire.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Justin Rose: Although he won his first two Turkish Airlines Opens at a different venue, he still has to be considered the favorite this week. He is currently 8th in the Official WorldGolf Rankings, and as the highest-ranked player in the field, look for him to give himself a chance at a three-peat.
Bernd Wiesberger: With three wins and a runner-up in the 2019 European Tour season, it has been a career year for the 34-year-old from Austria. With only one more event leading into the DP World Tour Championship, this is a great opportunity to add to his narrow lead over Jon Rahm.
