2019 Volvo China Open Preview

The European Tour returns to Beijing for the 16th edition of the Volvo China Open (as a co-sanctioned event). Last year, Alexander Bjork outlasted Adrian Otaegui by one stroke to earn his first European Tour title. This year, he’s back to defend his title against a strong field, including past Volvo China Open winners Alexander Levy and Haotong Li. Other notables in the field include last week’s winner Jorge Campillo, and 5-time European Tour winner Ross Fisher.

LOCATION

Genzon Golf Club:

Genzon Golf Club will host this event for the 2nd time in the tournament's history, the first time occurring in 2014. Located northeast of Shenzhen, it is considered one of the best golf courses in the entire country.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

JORGE CAMPILLO: The win at the Trophee Hassan was no fluke, as he is now 6thin the Race to Dubai standings. He finished 3rd at this event in2018, and although it was at a different golf course, there is no sign of the Spaniard slowing down any time soon.

ALEXANDER LEVY: He won this event for the first time in 2014, when it was staged at Genzon Golf Club. With only one top-5 finish, this is a great opportunity for Levy to jumpstart his 2019 season with a strong showing in China.
