2020 Farmers Insurance Open Preview
The PGA Tour’s California Swing continues at the scenic Torrey Pines Golf Club at the Farmers Insurance Open. Last week, Justin Rose won by two strokes over Adam Scott for his 10th career Tour title. However, if he wants to successfully defend his crown, he will have to outperform an incredibly stacked field, which includes the 2020 calendar year debut of Tiger Woods. Another notable player making their 2020 debut is 2018 Farmers Insurance Open winner Jason Day, who is coming off of an injury. Other notables in the field include Sebastian Munoz, who is third in the FedEx Cup Standings, and Southern California natives Phil Mickelson and Pat Perez.
Brandt Snedeker: He’s won two Farmers Insurance Open titles, but hasn’t won a tournament since August 2018. However, with two top-20 finishes to his credit this season, and his success at Torrey Pines, this is a great opportunity to earn his 10th career win.
Tiger Woods: Although he hasn’t won here since 2013, Tiger has had plenty of success at Torrey Pines, including his 2008 U.S. Open victory. His last start on Tour was at the 2019 Zozo Championship, and what better way to earn his record-breaking 83rd PGA Tour win at a venue he dominated for over 20 years?
