2018 Nedbank Golf Challenge Hosted by Gary Player Wrap-Up
Posted on November 11 2018
Lee Westwood has been one of the European Tour’s biggest names for more than 20 years, and he once again finds himself in the winner’s circle this year after his three stroke victory over Sergio Garcia at the 2018 Nedbank Golf Challenge. Westwood began the final round three shots behind Garcia, and got his round jumpstarted with an eagle on the par-5 2nd, and a birdie on the 8th would help him turn in 3-under 33. He would go on to birdie 11, 13 and 14 to seize control of the tournament, and birdies at 16 and 17 gave Lee Westwood a bogey-free 64 and his 24th career European Tour win, which is his first since 2014. The win vaults him up to the 17th position in the Race to Dubai Standings.
Next week, the top 64 players in the Race to Dubai Standings head to Dubai for the season finale DP World Tour Championship.
