2018 The CJ Cup at Nine Bridges Wrap-Up
Posted on October 22 2018
The last couple years on the PGA Tour have seen several players claiming the top spot in the Official World Golf Ranking, and with his win at The CJ Cup, Brooks Koepka takes over the number one spot. Starting the day with a four-stroke lead over Scott Piercy, Brooks felt pressure from his pursuers early, most notably from eventual second-place winner Gary Woodland with six birdies on his opening nine holes to tie the lead as Koepka made the turn. However, Brooks Koepka would start the final nine holes with a birdie on the 10th before following it with birdies at 12, 13, 15 and 16. Playing the 18th with a two-stroke lead, he would finish in style with an eagle to shoot a 9-under 63 and earn a four-stroke margin of victory for his fifth career PGA Tour victory.
The PGA Tour has two events next week: the co-sanctioned WGC - HSBC Champions in China and the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi.
