Posted on January 22 2019

The final round pairing saw two 31-year-olds with the man known as Lefty, 48-year-old Phil Mickelson. By the end of the round, Adam Long would claim victory by one stroke over Mickelson and Adam Hadwin. Phil began the day with a two-shot lead over Hadwin and was three ahead of Long. Hadwin would make the first move into the lead, with birdies on 2, 5, 7, 8 and 9 to shoot 5-under 31 and take a 2 shot lead over both his playing partners. Adam Hadwin would cool off on the back nine, and by the 18th hole, all three players would be tied for the lead. Despite having never won on the PGA Tour, it would be Adam Long who would rise to the occasion with an approach to 13 feet and a closing birdie for his maiden victory.
Next week, the PGA Tour heads to San Diego for the Farmers Insurance Open.
