2019 ISPS Handa Vic Open Wrap-Up

Those who expected an exciting finale to the 2019 Victorian Open were not disappointed, as Scotland’s David Law rallied back to win by one stroke over Australians Wade Ormsby and Brad Kennedy. Law began the day trailing Ormsby by 3 strokes, and found himself trialing even further back after Wade 3 of his first 5 holes, while he made 3 birdies offset by two bogeys to make the turn in 1-under 35. However, David would make a strong run on the back 9 with birdies on 10 and 11, and after a birdie on 16, he found himself only three strokes behind Wade, who cooled off with a string of pars. The turning point would come on 17, where Ormsby would make a double-bogey on the par-3. David Law would reach the par-5 18th one stroke back of Ormsby and Brad Kennedy. Needing a birdie to tie and eagle to win, he reached the green in two shots, and when his 8 foot eagle putt found the bottom of the cup, the result was a 6-under 66 and his first career European Tour victory.

Next week, the European Tour heads to Perth for the ISPS Handa World Super Perth 6
