2018 BMW Championship Wrap-Up
The Wentworth Club has a long history of high-profile champions, and this year's marquee European Tour event was no exception. Italy's Francesco Molinari defeated pre-tournament favourite Rory McIlroy by two strokes with a final round 68 to claim his fifth career European Tour victory and first in nearly two years. Starting the day tied with McIlroy and four shots clear of the field, Molinari played flawlessly with four birdies and no bogeys. Despite Rory making birdies on 17 and 18, it wouldn't be enough to scare the Italian. The win vaults Molinari up to 3rd in the Race to Dubai standings, behind Masters Champ Patrick Reed and Rory McIlRoy.
Next week, the European Tour heads to Brescia, Italy for the Italian Open.
