European Tour - 2018 Hero Indian Open Preview

This week, the capital city of India will host the 4th edition of the Hero Indian Open. Last year S.S.P. Chawrasia successfully defended his 2016 title in spectacular fashion, with a seven-shot victory over Gavin Green. Chawrasia will attempt a three-peat against some of the best India and the rest of the world has to offer, including Race of Dubai leader Shubhankar Sharma. Sharma is fresh off a top-10 and the 54-hole lead at the WGC- Mexico Championship. Other notables include inaugural Hero Indian Open champ Anirban Lahiri, Chris Wood, and Emiliano Grillo.

DLF Golf and Country Club will again host this tournament. A Gary Player design, it is amongst the highest rated course in India.

Players to Watch:

Joost Luiten: His last European Tour start resulted in a win at the Oman Open. Despite a middle-of-the-pack finish in Mexico, look for him to be in the mix this week.

Shubhankar Sharma: Looking to add his third win of the season and extend his lead in the Race to Dubai, Sharma is scorching-hot this year. There’s no reason he can’t win in his home country.
