After a final round duel that required extra holes to determine a winner, the Nordea Masters provided a thrilling display of golf. In the end, Paul Waring outlasted Thomas Aiken with a par on the first playoff hole. Having started the day tied for the lead together, Waring played more consistently through the first thirteen holes, and was two clear of Aiken with five holes to go. However, Paul Waring’s bogey on 15 trimmed the lead to one and an Aiken birdie on the par-5 eighteenth tied them after 72 holes. Unfortunately for Thomas Aiken, he drove it into the hazard on the first playoff hole, which meant par was good enough for Paul Waring to earn his first career European Tour victory after 200 starts, and vaults up to 63rd in the Race to Dubai standings.

Next week, the European Tour will be in Prague for the D+D Real Czech Masters.
