Golf fans had plenty of excitement to enjoy on the European Tour at the Portugal Masters. It started on Friday with the first 59 in Tour history shot by Oliver Fisher, and it ended with Tom Lewis emerging victorious by three strokes over Eddie Pepperell and Lucas Herbert. The day began with the Australian Herbert holding a two-stroke lead over Pepperell and Marcus Kinhult, but Lewis started off hot with birdies on three of his first four holes to take over the lead. It would be a closely contested race between Tom Lewis and Herbert, but the turning point came on the 17th, where Lewis holed a long par putt to maintain his one shot lead. After Lucas Herbert found the water off the 18th tee, a closing par for Lewis gave him a closing 5-under 66 and his second European Tour title, his first coming in the same event seven years ago.

As a result of his tie for second, Lucas Herbert gains full status on the European Tour for next season.
