2018 Fort Worth Invitational Preview
The PGA Tour returns to Colonial Country Club for the Fort Worth Invitational. Last year, Kevin Kisner won his second career Tour title by one stroke over Sean O’Hair, Jordan Spieth, and Jon Rahm. This year, he will have his work cut out for him in his title defense, with four of the top 10 players in the world in the field. Notables include past winners of this event: Adam Scott, Zach Johnson, and Chris Kirk. Other notables include last week’s winner Aaron Wise and local favorites Jimmy Walker and Ryan Palmer.
Colonial Country Club has hosted this event since 1946 and its history of champions is nothing short of spectacular. Ben Hogan holds the record for victories in this event with five; a bronze statue of him sits just outside the Colonial clubhouse.
Players to Watch:
Jon Rahm: Of the three players who finished runner-up last year, Rahm is playing the best golf by far. He has a win on both the PGA and European Tours already this year and should be brimming with confidence. A win for the Spaniard is well within his reach.
Adam Scott: Has been playing extremely well as of late despite being 183rd in Strokes Gained: Putting. Coming off a T-9 at the Byron Nelson, the 2014 Fort Worth Champion has a great chance to earn his 14th career victory this week.
