PGA Tour - 2018 Honda Classic Preview

The PGA Tour kicks off its first leg of the Florida Swing this week at The Honda Classic. Rickie Fowler looks to defend his title after cruising in last year’s tournament to a four-shot victory. All eyes will be on Tiger Woods, who returns to Palm Beach Springs after a rough showing at the Genesis Open, where he missed the cut by four strokes. Although he’s never won here, he has a runner-up finish and will be looking for a spark in his comeback.

PGA National is most famous for its last three holes, also known as “The Bear Trap”.  It’s consistently ranked in the top-5 most difficult three finishing holes on Tour, which makes for a tough and exciting finish.

Rory McIlroy: With a win and a second in this event since 2012, this tournament is a prime place for him to find his A-game. Look for him to be a contender.

Rickie Fowler: Not only is he the defending champ, he has also given himself a chance to win this year in Phoenix. Don’t be surprised to see him in the hunt come Sunday afternoon.

Sergio Garcia: The reigning Masters champion makes his season debut this week. On a demanding golf course like PGA National, his superior ball-striking should give him a great chance to add to his wins column.
