PGA Tour - 2018 John Deere Classic Wrap-Up
July 16 2018 – AARON CAMILLERI

Another week on the PGA Tour ends with a stellar performance by one player translating into a blowout maiden victory at the John Deere Classic. Starting the day with a five-stroke lead over Bronson Burgoon, Kim was off to a hot start with three straight birdies, and it was nothing but cruise control from that point forward. The result was a final round 5-under 66 and a commanding eight-shot victory over Francesco Molinari, Joel Dahmen, Sam Ryder, and Burgoon. Michael Kim’s 27-under total beat the tournament scoring record set in 2010 by Steve Stricker, and his eight shot victory is the largest margin at the John Deere. The win is Kim’s first PGA Tour victory and gains him an exemption to next week’s Open Championship.
