Despite a few weather delays, the PGA Tour had a great event at the RBC Canadian Open, where Dustin Johnson emerged victorious by three strokes over Whee Kim and Byeong Hun An. Starting the day tied for the lead with Kim, An, and Kevin Tway, DJ started out firing with back-to-back birdies on the first two holes and added a third on the eighth to take the lead heading into the back nine. His only bogey on the day was on the par-3 12th, but he made up for it with four birdies, including a two-putt birdie on the 72nd hole. The win is Dustin Johnson’s 19th career PGA Tour victory and third this season; he’s now the clear front-runner in the FedEx Cup points race and in great position for player of the year.
Next week, the PGA Tour heads to Reno, Nevada for the Barracuda Championship.
The game’s best players from the PGA Tour, European Tour, and professional golf tours all over the world will meet at Firestone CC in Akron Ohio for the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
