PGA Tour - 2018 Valero Texas Open Wrap-Up
April 23 2018 – AARON CAMILLERI

It's been a great stretch for first-time winners this season on the PGA Tour, and the Valero Texas Open was the site of the sixth, and second-straight tournament to crown a maiden champion. Starting the day tied for the lead with Zach Johnson, Andrew Landry came out of the gates firing, birdieing his first three holes and five of his first ten. One lone dropped shot at 11 and pars to finish gave the Texas-native a 4-under 68 and a two-shot victory over Trey Mullinax and Sean O'Hair. The victory vaults him from 42nd to 9th in the FedEx Cup standings, and with the season roughly halfway complete, he'll be in great shape to make a deep run in the playoffs.
Next week the PGA Tour heads to Louisiana and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Stay tuned for the preview of this fun and interesting event!
